My childhood dream and life’s passions have been in writing and observing both the facets of nature and of human nature. After retiring from a challenging and enriching career as a special education teacher I transitioned to make this dream of becoming a writer a reality. During motherhood and that of grand parenting and being a wife, I found solace when I dug my hands into soil learning about plants and how to nourish them. In that alone time voices spoke as my garden became a type of meditation. They were those of my parents who had gone before me. Their lives and that of my childhood begged to be shared. First, the children’s book “Beezie With a Sneezie” came out of that desire to publish showing me the way. Now, with a memoir of my parent’s impact on my life in “Making A Living”- A memoir set in rural Kentucky, they speak through me.
