About me

8th October: Things are moving fast. The atmosphere at the Waterstones Hastings signing was great, with a real buzz in the shop. see press photos at http://www.fiona-skovronsky.vpweb.co.uk Loads of people came to hear stories from the two smugglers with me and the young people enjoyed examining all the props. Sold 21 copies that day, and now there’s a great word-of-mouth thing going on, and with Anna I’m rushing to get things organized so that Gardners can get the book easily in order to fulfil orders through Amazon, Waterstones etc. On Saturday, I’ll be signing copies at the Books Born in Hastings event at the town hall. 19th August: I’ve just come back from doing readings and book signings in the Smugglers’ Adventure tourist attraction. It was great, a really spooky atmosphere, and everyone loved the book covers. I write material for Cornelsen Verlag English language teaching software and I’ve been teaching EFL for 33 years.

They get back to you when they've read it. it does have to be your local Waterstones. I haven't heard of them hosting signings for non-local writers, apart from bestselling writers. they'll probably give you a date for a few weeks later, a Saturday from 11am. When you know the date, you shd tell local radio and newspaper, who will probably send a photographer down. if you don't hear from waterstones after about a fortnight of leaving your book, contact them. Actually, maybe you should make sure you put it straight into a manager's hands rather than just leave it for her. (more) and bagged+3

They have a policy of promoting local authors. A manager will then read it and let you know if they want a signing. they're sure to want one. Usually on a Saturday from 11am. i wil write more later when I have thought of any other hints. (more) and earned+3

If you have a moment at all, I'd be interested to know exactly how you went about promoting your book in Waterstone's and Gardner's. It's something I'd also like to do with my novel and I'm not quite sure how to go about it! Thanks -- Amanda (more) and earned+3

In a slightly different way, Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin succeeds brilliantly in putting across a heartfelt plea to end slavery without preaching. Don't yet know whether i'll be working that Sat when you are signing at King's Cross, but will let you know. (more) and received+3

Yes, deep down Paula cared more than she showed. Or could it be case of Daniel, being the self-centred, insecure individual he is/was, failed to notice? A combination of both I say, but I love letting the reader make up thier own mind. It's also another theme in the book to show the ripple effect of our actions. The way we are judged, go about challenging those judgements, etc. Also perhaps an insight into why certain types of people are unfaithful, and how no matter how casual they appear, it does leave some sort of scar. Also what it takes to make those engaging in unfaithful acts realise the extent of thier actions. Thankyou so much for all your compliments, and the brilliant review you gave the book. It really does mean a lot to me. I'm doing a signing at Housman's bookshop in Kings Cross, on Saturday 5th October, at 5pm. It would be great if you could make it. No problem if you can't, we've got completely novel! (more) and received+3
