Siri Mitchell has done an excellent job of comparing a Christian who is afraid of breaking the "rules" with Christians who really understand what Jesus wants to give us - an abundant, full life. Thankfully, Adrien lives under grace instead of legalism, and he shows Claire what real living is like - mostly with his own life, and sometimes with some not-so-gentle prodding. Some may see this as Adrien trying to change Claire. I think he sees how unhappy she is with her life and he loves her enough to lead her to the possibility of change, even if it means she might reject him. In the beginning, Claire gives in to Adrien's prodding because she wants to get his attention, but the longer she does, the more she enjoys the freedom she has found to look past what is "proper" and live the life that Jesus promised.
