About me

Where to begin? I have always enjoyed writing, ever since I was a child and can’t remember a time where I haven’t wanted a book in my hand. I did a degree in English and Drama at Roehampton University and ended up doing a PGCE at the Cambridge University, Homerton College after which I embarked on a career in teaching. I’ve been doing this ever since. I read excessively, all sorts of novels by different authors; my favorites are Ian Rankin, Ruth Rendell and Daphne du Maurier but I’m always finding others. That said, writing is a passion for me and I really enjoy the creative release it can give. “Mystery, Deceit and a School Inspector” was published in 2006 with UK Independent publisher Pneuma Springs (you can read the first few chapters for nothing here on CN). I now also write to appeal to the darker side of the teenage/young adult mind. My second work titled OTOLI for Young Adult readers went through redraft here on CN with the help of readers feedback. This book was published by Pneuma Springs on 28th April 2011. I’m now researching and writing for other projects for both Adult and Young Adult readerships. I look forward to touching base with you all.

Now, financing in such a fashion ; I don't suppose it would work today as useful as it would be for libaries etc, and even though the old fella swore he had been told it was legal, I have always harboured thoughts that this, and anything else like it, is one of those things which is not actually legal but is mostly overlooked. A little like the maximum cash amounts taken abroad, quite severe at the time. But he did a great job in an unlikely way. But there were loads of fellas like that in the service, able to drum up funds and resources where previously there was none. I knew another bloke who wanted to help the local church in Thornton, he did nothing less than go through all sorts of channels to get the then brand new Showbix X1 football team (c early 60s) to come to Bootle, Liverpool, to play a local team. But you then had to pay the team's expenses which were considerable. He agreed to pay the team after the event, sold tickets at quite a high price. It could all have gone wrong but it didn't. He made enough to pay the team, and raise money for the church. Unfortunately, I was too young at the time, but my brother found himself in the pub afterwards with Tommy Steele, Harry Fowler (Army Game etc) and Norman Rossington (Hard Day's Night, loads of British films) and more; something which was amazing for the area, it wasn't even Liverpool city centre, which perhaps may have been something which could happen, but not our little backwater. But there you go, eleven stars and a fruity trainer slumming it in North Liverpool. (more) and won+3

Read 'Support your local Community Centre' and thought of the library closures going on, wouldn't work would it? (probably a definitely not given the global exchange rates). Looking forward to the rest and will review when done. Bryony (more) and received+3

Seriously, thank you for your kind comments and support. Yes, in terms of book release I'm looking in to various things for promotion with the publisher as well as my own things, the publisher doesn't have the marketing budget of some of the huge publishers out there but that doesn't over concern me as there are other avenues to pursue. Quite excited now to be fair and I even had an email from the publisher earlier today with an 'In progress' book cover. The cover is much different to what is shown here on CN but the concept is still very apparent, it's looking fab even if not quite finished. Again I'll say no more than that for now. I have added your book and just started reading, had to chuckle 'Ode to Mcfly' ;-) Best regards Bryony (more) and won+3
