About me

Where to begin? I have always enjoyed writing, ever since I was a child and can’t remember a time where I haven’t wanted a book in my hand. I did a degree in English and Drama at Roehampton University and ended up doing a PGCE at the Cambridge University, Homerton College after which I embarked on a career in teaching. I’ve been doing this ever since. I read excessively, all sorts of novels by different authors; my favorites are Ian Rankin, Ruth Rendell and Daphne du Maurier but I’m always finding others. That said, writing is a passion for me and I really enjoy the creative release it can give. “Mystery, Deceit and a School Inspector” was published in 2006 with UK Independent publisher Pneuma Springs (you can read the first few chapters for nothing here on CN). I now also write to appeal to the darker side of the teenage/young adult mind. My second work titled OTOLI for Young Adult readers went through redraft here on CN with the help of readers feedback. This book was published by Pneuma Springs on 28th April 2011. I’m now researching and writing for other projects for both Adult and Young Adult readerships. I look forward to touching base with you all.

My publisher has supplied a 16 page PDF reading sample of OTOLI and I have resized the PDF dimensions to suit CN. The upload seemed to be going okay and passed formatting but I then got a message stating 'can't print less than 56 pages' so the overall upload failed. Is there anyway to overcome this? I just want the PDF to be available in the streamer so readers can sample the book. As the book is being published by Pneuma Springs I'm under contract so can't have the full book uploaded and the buy option on CN would be the Amazon link button. I can send the PDF to if you would like. Hope you can help. Bryony (more) and received+3

Fingers crossed, but it looks like the book will start shipping in about a week. Famous last words, eh? (more) and earned+3

Pneuma Springs are using LS as their printer once OTOLI releases on the 28th April. I've held off getting my copy of your book as I've been waiting to see its availabilty status change. If all is good now I'll go ahead and order a copy. (My husband is getting impatient to read it!) Bryony (more) and won+3

I will be keeping reference to OTOLI here on CN and will provide a free reading sample of the new book from the publisher very soon. Many thanks to those here on CN for your warm and supportive comments that helped me shape and confirm in my own mind, the final manuscript. It's been a lengthy road but it's now thankfully coming to fruition. I'll be posting my current project very soon, a YA novel with its themes rooted in the Suffolk witch trials of 1645. The version here will be remaining for a short time but as the book is being published in Apr/May I will be taking it down in the very near future. The publisher however is happy for me to include a reading sample of the new book here so I will ensure that a few chapters are made available. I hope you enjoy reading the version here at the moment and please do feel free to comment or drop me a message. The new book is about 10,000 words longer and other than that I'm not spilling the beans! The book will be available as a paperback and Kindle E-book. Best regards Bryony (more) and gained+3

I am sorry that all messages here are seeable by all, as this won't make happy reading. I am really finding this site so cumbersome that it aint worth it. Shame, the books are nice, the price is more or less akin to other sites, but, boy, the set up and navigation etc. So, email me if you would like a PDF of the edited 'Words'. It may be a short while before I've gone, as I cannot find the cancel account option so have emailed them to ask them to do this for me. And again, not in the least slighted if you don't want the file, it is more my wish to allow those who may be reading my stuff to carry on doing so at their leisure. Ok, done, best wishes with your release, hope it does well, tata. John Haines (more) and bagged+3

I am brushing it up before re-posting, sad thing is, I am not sure if it will be here again. I am finding things a tad clunky, not as smooth as the other sites I'm with, but maybe that will improve in time. Anyhoo, I wouldn't like to cut anyone off mid flow, if you would like the file to carry on reading then please email me, johnhaines2004@yahoo.com , I'll then email the updated file back to you. But again, no worries if you've moved on. Cheers. John (more) and bagged+3
