    Terrifying

This book shows the author's hallmarks: meticulous research and an intricate pacy plot. It lured me in from the first page with its vividly drawn image of the brooding, menacing, vicious Mike Tyrell. There were a few breathtakingly beautiful "blink and you'll miss them" snatches of descriptive brilliance, evoking for me tangible atmospheres of times and places gone by. It's an imaginative punch-packing book, and deeply disturbing because it could all be so worryingly possible. The flashes of sheer terror and shock are the stuff of nightmares. Maybe another Dean Koontz in the making? I won't forget this book; it shook me to the core. Thank you for an unputdownable read.

    The Wrendian - awesome

Do you believe in vigilantism? Do you believe that a person should be allowed to become judge, jury and executioner when they hurt those you love? A group of people created by God to rid the world of evil when, as we find out time after time, our judges and juries do not do the job. They do not hunt but let the evil come to them, then they destroy. The Wrendian - a beautiful person with a beautiful soul that has been created by God to rid the world of evil. But they can work, live and love amongst us. Be our friends and our family. A book that is happening in present day but has amazing history flashbacks. Great reading that keeps you on the edge of your seat as you cheer for the Wrendians and hope those who want to destroy them do not succeed. 'They are God's creation, here to protect you'.

Another tour de force by a writer I've come to expect nothing less from. He sets himself ever higher goals and reaches them effortlessly. A book to stir the darkest depths of the soul and leave the reader forever disturbed. Magnificent.

I read The Wrendian Absolution by Colin Leonard, which I really enjoyed, so I purchased The Wrendian Red Corn. What an incredible novel. I was hooked from the first page and could not put it down. There were parts I cheered and parts that touched my heart. God's servants sent to rid the world of evil - they certainly do a great job AWESOME

Riveting and hard hitting. Don't read at bed time.

The author's now established credentials as one of the most exciting fantasy writers today, are confirmed in "Three Days". Opening with the aptly named Sophie Dove (inviting comparison with the biblical messenger of peace and hope) the reader is whirled through a maelstrom of violence and destruction, hurtling towards the ultimate level of divine retribution. "Three Days" is steeped in ancient religious beliefs, with mediaeval style brutal punishments being meted out to those who sin against God's holy laws. The author paints astonishing word pictures of the glorious beauties of nature, which serve to contrast sharply with the abhorrent actions of the psychopaths who seek to insult, defile and destroy God's innocent creations. A riveting and hard hitting book Don't read at bed time.

This is a many layered, complex and involving novel which I read at a slower pace than usual. Firstly, this was to ensure I fully understood the twists and turns of the narrative and secondly, to absorb the author's masterful technique of painting word pictures that dazzle my mind, enchanting and delighting me in equal measure. His talent in this regard is one of the reasons I enjoy his work so much. One of the many fine descriptions was this spellbinding example of personification:- "The sun highlighted glistening dust particles as they danced their displeasure at being disturbed." The author also reveals touches of wry observational humour, inviting the reader to connect with this lighter touch, and serve to ease the relentless bombardment of tension and horror. His description of an out of date mobile phone made me cringe at its similarity to my own! Nathan's handcuffs trick brought another smile. I was particularly pleased that the reader was given such a thorough historical background to the demons earlier incarnations. This made them well rounded characters, whose evolution into evil beings I could fully understand. In the final two chapters, drama and poignancy culminate in a satisfying conclusion to another gripping Wrendian novel. Sit down and relish this book, then think how fascinating it would be to see it, and the other Wrendian novels, brought to the big screen. (more)
