There hasn't been any price change!! Or at least there shouldn't have been. The price has been £8.99 for many many months. That is my whole point. Someone has increased the RRP to £9.99 and as a result the distributors have done the same thing. I haven't changed anything. I noticed last week that there is now a £40 charge for resubmissions distributors. I'd rather avoid this of course but I do want the RRP to remain at £8.99. It is strange however that when I changed the price to £8.99 some time ago, all the outlets (Amazon, Waterstones, WHSmith...) adopted that price and then, without me making any change whatsoever, they all seem to have reverted back to the original price at the same time... Any suggestions as to why? You didn't say anything about the version of the book that Amazon is still selling (it's got the old-style cover). They keep ordering the book from Completely Novel (I assume that's where most orders come from although nothing seems to have been ordered in August as the sales haven't appeared on the Completely Novel site), so why are the books that are being sold the older version. It is of course up to the retailer as to what price they sell the book for, we provide them with a guide retail price and a purchase price (70% of the guide price). It is within their right to raise or lower the price to what they see fit. Any difference in the sale price and the price they buy the book for is kept by the them. So for example if Amazon sold your book for £30 and it cost them £6 they would pocket £24 and likewise if they sold the same book for £5 they would take a £1 loss. WHSmith are also selling at £9.99 but I am unable to check at Waterstones as their site is currently down. Perhaps you could check yourself later. Another couple of questions while I'm here; Amazon are still selling versions of the book with the old cover (I updated it several months ago). I know this as I asked them to change the cover on their website but they did a 'bin check' and found the old cover version was still in stock.
