About me

The first story I remember writing voluntarily opened with the sentence, “The Federal Bureau of Investigation was investigating…” Not brilliant, although amusing to re-read now. Luckily, I abandoned my obession for ‘The X-Files’ fanfic, and was guided, (by my more literate friends’ recommendations) to Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Donna Tartt, amongst others.

Now, I study English and Creative Writing and would happily spend hours walking up and down the bookshelves in Waterstones or Boarders carefully selecting novels.

Although I mainly read modern fiction novels, I love plays, (particularly from the Royal Court), and poems (Carol Ann Duffy’s ‘Rapture’ lives by the side of my bed).
