Crime, Thrillers & Mystery, Humour, and Fiction
Where to begin? I have always enjoyed writing, ever since I was a child and can’t remember a time where I haven’t wanted a book in my hand. I did a degree in English and Drama at Roehampton University and ended up doing a PGCE at the Cambridge University, Homerton College after which I embarked on a career in teaching. I’ve been doing this ever since.
I read excessively, all sorts of novels by different authors; my favourites are Ian Rankin, Ruth Rendell and Daphne du Maurier. That said, I also love writing and enjoy the release it can give.
I published my debut novel “Mystery, Deceit and a School Inspector” on a no cost basis with Pneuma Springs Publishing (you can read the first few chapters for nothing, the Publisher restricted this aspect).
My second work is a novella titled OTOLI for Young Adult readers and I’m hoping that CN can help me acquire representation for the book. I’m now researching for a third book that I’ll be writing which is also for a Young Adult readership. It’s great to part of a community that offers help to new authors in getting the word out about their work. I look forward to touching base with you all.
Hi Joan,

I’m not sure about that either, actually. With non-fiction, the manuscript is delivered and then edited; typos and other mistakes are picked up and corrected, and certain passages, which may be unclear, are queried and clarification requested, if necessary. I’m guessing that it’s the same with fiction, since this is my first experience of having fiction accepted by a publisher.

No problem Alan, credit where credit is due I think. Will they want to change anything or are they happy with it as it is?

Hi Bryony. Many thanks for your kind words, and for adding the book to your library. I’m actually not certain about the book’s presence on CN. I’m guessing that I will be asked to take it down soon, or just to have an excerpt. Will let you know.
Best, Alan

Hi Alan,
The indication of the message from Oli suggests that you have had a publisher take on ‘The Martian Ambassador’. In that case I would love to offer you my congratulations also. I will add this to my library while it is still live and give Sci/Fi a go, I certainly enjoyed the last book I read from you (The Lighthouse Keeper). Does the publisher still plan to have the book (or a portion of it) on CN?
Best Regards
Bryony
