The honest answer is, Wynne just took over and demanded an equal footing with Damon, and I think in teh sequal this will be more overtly dealt with as she starts to question why the chosen ones have to be boys when she's equal to any of them! I can totally understand not wanting to follow the typical bad-character-turns-nice cliche...and I absolutely loved Wynne's character and think she acts as a good foil for Damon - I just found myself sympathizing more with Wynne and her journey than with Damon, which jarred a bit as Damon is technically the main character...unless of course he's not and you'll be devoting equal time to both Wynne and Damon, in which case you did a great job :) (more)

I admit it was a bit of a risk making ...Hi Heidi - thanks so much for your feedback on Lightsleep. I admit it was a bit of a risk making one of the main characters a brat who you want to slap a lot of the time (you and me both), but I liked the idea of having an anti hero. I hoped that the much nicer character of Wynne, would act as a foil to him and provide the more likable heroinne. I did want to avoid completely giving in to the cliche of bad boy becomes nice boy - and come the sequel, Damon is still quite bratty (although improved). I really appreciate the constructive comments, however. Watch this space re the Sequael Darkland (although it may be some time off). (more)
