all the usual prattchett energy and atmosphere, and genuine feeling of country like, but the book was definitely missing something; perhaps a satisfying ending... love joe x
Tells the true story of the escape of Slav Rawicz and 5 other polish prisoners of war, from a forced labour camp in Northern Siberia and their epic journey through Mongolia, the Gobi Dessert, Tibet, over the Himalayas to India and safety. A magnificent tail of endurance and ingenuity but also the warmth of human nature, as much of the book tells of people who aided them on their way. Love Joe x
telling her story from several converging points of view, kate writes a pretty good murder mystery with the point you work it all out not blindingly obvious, but not impossible to guess till you read the last page either. jolly good! love joe x
