Publishing Hub: How long does it take for book to be removed from Amazon site?

    Hi guys. Have just deleted my book from CN site as have managed to get a publishing deal. With regards the print edition listed on Amazon- how long does it take to disappear? Or do I actively have to inform Amazon that it’s no longer available? It’s just that I don’t want anyone ordering something that doesn’t exist!!!!

      Hi Ross. How did you go about removing your book from Amazon? I’ve tried to remove two books, but they got back and said I couldn’t, as buyers, retailers might have used editions to sell.

      That was my question really. I’ve erased them from the CN site and given that was the only place they came from, I was hoping that’d do the trick. I didn’t want anyone placing any orders by mistake, to never have them come through.
      Hopefully query will be answered by Ollie or one of the crew soon.

      Hi Ross,

      We can send a request to Amazon as the publisher asking for it to be removed and will take the edition off all of the databases we have control over. However, sometimes it does take a while for it to be completely removed from Amazon and other sites which trawl the web for book data. The book is likely to be listed as ‘out of stock’ for a while so people won’t be able to buy it, but it may still be displayed. We’ll do what we can though.

      Thanks, Georgina. It was always listed ‘out of stock’ anyway! I’d be grateful if you could get them to take it down so as to avoid confusion when it is re-published.
