I have a book on Amazon and there is a real problem w/ order fulfillment thru Lightning Source. I don’t know the whole story, but Lightning Source is sitting on my orders and not sending the books to Amazon — so the orders are not getting filled, It is a nightmare. Is anybody else having a similar experience — or does anyone know anything about this situation? I was told by an Amazon customer service rep that Amazon and Lightning Source are having some kind of fight. I would imagine it is about $$$. Any feedback appreciated! Thanks…

      Hi Paul,

If the book is very newly published it is probably a case of LS connecting up with Amazon for the new title. I’ve seen this before when a new titles get listed as available by amazon before they have distribution set up.

The good news is as soon as the link is sorted the orders are then sent to LS and the orders are fulfilled.

The issue with LS and Amazon is to do with the Amazon listings of some print-on-demand books. Amazon have started listing some books with a longer delivery time. LS have assured me that amazon still send the orders through and they are delivered as per usual.

If you let me know which book you refer to I might be able to have a look.

    • Hi Oli, having recently upgraded my publishing plan, my book appeared on Amazon in early December and I placed an order on 6th Dec to check how the order process from there works. Amazon is still saying there’s no known delivery date for the order. Is there still a problem with orders being passed on from Amazon to CN and/or Lightning Source? How long should it normally take for orders placed via Amazon to come through?
      Thanks,
      Fiona

    • The free publishing plan means your books are available through CompletelyNovel and books are listed in the ISBN database.

You can hook up distribution with retailers yourself if you wish. The pro and plus plans are subscriptions that mean we’ll do it all for you.

If you take a look at your manage page (only fiona can visit this link). Then you’ll see a bit of an explanation. If you would like us to fulfill everything then I’ve sorted out a voucher for you “PROPLAN2” or “PLUSPLAN2” which will give you two months free plus or pro plan respectively.

Once signed up and happy with your book files then you can click the button to send the book for retailer distribution.

Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

I’ve already upgraded from the free plan to the Plus Plan so am paying £7.99 a month. I understood that this meant my book would be available to buy through Amazon – is this incorrect?
