I’ve heard there can be a 2-3 weeks delivery time on books supplied to Amazon by Lightening Source. However, this isn’t the case if you use CreateSpace. So, if this is the case, how do I change my book so it is printed by CreateSpace?

      Hi Gillian,
There has been a bit of confusion on this so thanks for bringing it up.
Basically, Amazon are not delaying dispatch of books printed by Lightning Source. These books take the same amount of time that they always have (up to 10 days to allow for them to be printed and posted). However, Amazon are giving preferential treatment to books printed by CreateSpace which is their linked provider by effectively saying that Lightning Source books take longer and that CreateSpace books take less time. In fact, it is about the same and the quality of CreateSpace books is not as good as Lightning Source.
I know this situation isn’t ideal in marketing terms as people prefer to order books which arrive sooner. We are talking to Lightning Source to see how their relationship with Amazon will develop and following the situation closely to see what options we may have. In the meantime you are able to set up an account yourself with CreateSpace if you want to broaden your options.

Thanks Georgina, I’ve decided to go with Lightning Source.
