Hi Joan,

There are a number of ways to put a pdf on your kindle. All you need a usb cable and a computer.

The easiest way to describe the process is probably to point you towards a youtube video tutorial. This one from goodereader is a little poorly done but goes through the process.

The steps are:

1. download the book to your computer
2. turn your kindle on and attach it to your computer with the USB cable
3. the computer will ask what to do with the device – browse with explorer (windows)/finder(mac)
4. copy the ebook file to the documents folder on your kindle

If you are feeling adventurous you can use an ebook management program like calibre to manage and format your books. There is a video example here
