To The End of Hell by Densie Affonco. It’s now out in paperback and is an extraordinary account of how one woman survived the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia. I always say to people if they read one book this year it should be this.
Denise’s account is also topical as she was a witness at the first trial held in absentia of Pol Pot and Ieng Sary and Ieng Sary is about to go on trial again.
She is an inspiring woman far from being a depressing read I found this quite uplifting.
