CN Central: I can't pay for my books for some reason.

I have purchased books/credits several times recently with no problem. But now the site will not let me pay with credit/debit card. When I push the tab, it tells me that PayPal doesn’t recognize my card. But I’m clicking on that tab to circumvent PayPal (and have done so successfully several times). Have any idea why I’m having the problem?

Hi Randall,

All payments that go into CompletelyNovel (even those where a credit card is used rather than a PayPal account) go through PayPal as they are able to store data securely. The downside to this is that they have an address verification system which can be rather over zealous. We requested that they make a few changes to the settings a while ago in order that our customers would not experience the kind of issue you are facing, but it looks as though they may have changed the settings again without letting us know. I will contact them and find out if they can fix this. I’m really sorry about the inconvenience. I’m guessing you have probably tried other credit cards if you have them (cards from some banks seem to still go through ok) – worth a try if you haven’t.
I’ll come back when I know more.
