I gave up trying to get an agent who would even read my book. I self-published it. You can see what the readers thought of it by checking out Shaihen Heritage Book 1: Cloak of Magic on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, or my own website http://www.shehaios.co.uk
However, if an agent can help me raise the profile of my fantasy series Shaihen Heritage and begin to get it take seriously, I would be very interested in talking to that agent! I may be disappearing up my own publicity, but I am really beginning to believe there is commercial potential for this series.
Dominika – are you interested in talking to me, or do you have enough wannabes?
- Sue 17 Dec 23:34Hi Watson, Little. Nice to see an agency presence on CN.
- Jonathan 18 Dec 11:42Hi there.
We’re just sorting a few things out on the website so that everyone will be able to see the submissions procedure for literary agencies such as Watson Little. This should help writers to suss out which agents will be best for them (thu avoid wasted submissions), and also try and save agents from getting shedloads of inappropriate manuscripts through the post. It’s well worth looking at Watson Little’s Facebook page – you can really get a flavour of the kind of work they are looking for.
Sue, please go ahead and send us your material as a submission. We still haven’t managed to put our submission details on our CN page but they are agency standard, as follows: A synopsis, covering letter and sample chapters to Sallyanne Sweeney with a SAE. More details can be found on our Facebook page.
We have taken on various self-published works when the author has wanted to take it to that ‘next level’. Having representation is definitely worthwhile and makes the process run a little smoother.
We consider everything and anything we receive, so please feel free to submit your material.
- Dominika 08 Jan 12:11Hi Dominika,
We’ve got a whole bunch of updates coming soon to make agents life on CompletelyNovel even better with a better looking profile and more options for displaying submission proceedures and other useful info.
Later we’ll add some neat tools which you will be able to enable if you like. These will allow you to watch the progress of selected books on CompletelyNovel (nice charts etc) and take submissions from writers who meet a criteria you specify comprising of ratings, author activity, book sales etc.
If you have any ideas for features you would like to see on your agent profile then please send us a message or put it up for discussion here!
Cheers
Oli
- Oliver 08 Jan 17:15That sounds great, Oliver. We are keen to become as active as we can on CN and really interact with the writers and readers. Look forward to seeing the changes and I’ll have a chat with my colleague, Sallyanne, to see if we can think of any other useful tools.
