Hiya,
Just a few notes/suggestions:
Unless I’m missing something I can’t see a way to edit my book’s cover – the cover creator starts from scratch again.
Perhaps implement a way to insert a page or do minor edits online, instead of having to convert to PDF and upload again?
There was something else I think but it’s slipped my mind – oh well. The printing/delivery process was seamless when I ordered a copy of my book – looks great!

Hi Jon,
The way to edit your book cover is to edit your book project.
1) Click ‘My Home’ then ‘Projects’.
2) Click ‘edit’ on the book project you want to edit.
3) Go to the cover creator stage. You can click next (at the top of the project status).
4) Click the cover creator link and it should load your book cover so you can change it.
We don’t have a way to do online edits of the book yet unfortunately. It is quite complicated to keep the formatting correct. One thing to bear in mind is that if you change the book block the spine might change so you need to reload the cover as well. This is why we put the book creation process in a wizard.
We do know that the book publishing needs a bit of work and it is an area we are working on at the moment. The next bunch of changes to the site should be rolled out at the start of December and will include upload as .doc, .rtf, .docx and we’ll do the formatting and pdf conversion for you. Should make life easier.
Keep the suggestions coming and we’ll do our best to sort them out.
Cheers Oli
- Oliver 17 Nov 17:12Thanks Oli – I’m sure I tried to edit the cover yesterday via this method and ended up with a blank page for my cover. Anyway, works now.
As for the publishing process as a whole, I found it quite intuitive and am pleased with the finished result.
Do you have an idea when the site will launch, btw?
- Jonathan 18 Nov 09:41We’ll have a look at the cover for you.
As far as launch date is concerned we need to move a few things around in the background and get printing and distribution sorted in the USA. We will probably open the site up for everyone to use in the next 3 weeks with our new features. We will then have our proper public launch at new year.
Cheers
