About me

Where to begin? I have always enjoyed writing, ever since I was a child and can’t remember a time where I haven’t wanted a book in my hand. I did a degree in English and Drama at Roehampton University and ended up doing a PGCE at the Cambridge University, Homerton College after which I embarked on a career in teaching. I’ve been doing this ever since.
I read excessively, all sorts of novels by different authors; my favorites are Ian Rankin, Ruth Rendell and Daphne du Maurier but I’m always finding others. That said, writing is a passion for me and I really enjoy the creative release it can give.
“Mystery, Deceit and a School Inspector” was published in 2006 with UK Independent publisher Pneuma Springs (you can read the first few chapters for nothing here on CN). I now also write to appeal to the darker side of the teenage/young adult mind.
My second work titled OTOLI for Young Adult readers went through redraft here on CN with the help of readers feedback. This book was published by Pneuma Springs on 28th April 2011. I’m now researching and writing for other projects for both Adult and Young Adult readerships. I look forward to touching base with you all.

I'm so glad he's enjoying it! OTOLI came the other day, and I read it in one sitting. I have no interest whatsoever in YA fiction, but your novel pulled me right in and wouldn't let me go - and that's the mark of a really terrific writer. It's a fantastic piece of work, and I've written a few words on Amazon to that effect. All the best, and say Hi to your husband for me! (more)

He will review for you at Amazon once he's finished. Loves the Ingrid Cold character too even if he's bad! Bryony (more)

I hope you enjoy it, it's a shorter book than Ambassador and obviously for a younger audience but I hope people connect with the story. I've hopefully created something that reluctant teenage readers will be happy to pick up. I'm just grateful that Pneuma Springs took this on in an ever changing world of publishing at the moment. It's good to see that your book is selling too, I think spiking is normal on Amazon depending on what promotion is being done around the book. I'm not sure if bestseller status on Amazon is everything though it would of course obviously be nice. The main thing is that people out there are buying the book. I think money from the big houses probably does the talking in terms of reaching those dizzy heights from the off. I got a royalty statement yesterday from my publisher for my adult book Mystery, Deceit and a School Inspector and this showed that more Kindle copies have been ordered worldwide over the last couple of months than the paperback which seems to confirm the way many think the industry is going. I've had an email too saying your book has been dispatched to me so I guess it will turn up today at some point with any luck and a bank holiday weekend approaching. I'm looking forward to seeing it in a non electronic form this time and the husband is certainly looking forward to reading it. Bryony (more)

Thanks so much for buying a copy - that's really nice of you! Actually, I just popped over to Amazon and saw that OTOLI is now available, so I've ordered a copy. Sweet! Ambassador seems to be doing OK. Sales rank keeps spiking - nowhere near the bestseller level, but people are definitely buying it, and Snowbooks have accepted the sequel, so all in all, pretty cool. Best of luck with OTOLI. I'm really looking forward to reading it. (more)

My publisher has supplied a 16 page PDF reading sample of OTOLI and I have resized the PDF dimensions to suit CN. The upload seemed to be going okay and passed formatting but I then got a message stating 'can't print less than 56 pages' so the overall upload failed. Is there anyway to overcome this? I just want the PDF to be available in the streamer so readers can sample the book. As the book is being published by Pneuma Springs I'm under contract so can't have the full book uploaded and the buy option on CN would be the Amazon link button. I can send the PDF to if you would like. Hope you can help. Bryony (more)
