Susie Evershed has landed the top job of editor of Women’s Place magazine. Problem is, she’s only at the helm while the permanent editor is on maternity leave, the editorial director thinks she isn’t up to the job, members of staff are playing her up and sales are slumping.
Now, she’s being forced to go to the patronising, arrogant Max Raphael – editor of lads’ magazine Expose – for advice. Her boss James Smith-Read is being charmingly attentive outside office hours, but he’s also announcing an emergency revamp of the magazine – meaning that in the real Editor’s absence, Women’s Place will either thrive or fail under Susie’s control.
