When hurricane Katrina wipes out his fledgling new business Willis “Mac” McCall is forced back into his previous career of international construction management. The only job he can get quickly is managing a troubled development project that in Paris, a city where he has a history.

Drawing on his skills as political fixer Mac sets about protecting himself the only way he knows. As he does he finds himself drawn ever deeper into the complex origins of the project’s problems, an affair that has raged on for centuries. Using all the contacts he can find he slowly uncovers a mysterious cabal of people who will do anything to prevent completion of his project. Only by confronting the past and his present fears can Mac prove his innocence and secure his future.
