This is a book to make you laugh. The humorous history of a woman who, according to chroniclers, became Pope. Through it I join the various authors who seriously or just joking have written about her. The greek Emmanuel Royidis made readers have fun, the ortodox church excomunicated him and the civil authorities interdited his book, Pope Joan. Overly feminist was Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross, and serious and erudite The female Pope by Rosemary & Darroll Pardoe. There are some more and a 1972 film, Pope Joan, by the swedish actress Liv Ullman. I preferred to joke. I like to have a good laugh.
