On a single summer’s day, writers all over the UK took part in a nationwide experiment. They went forth… and eavesdropped. From Stuart Maconie on the train to Jenn Ashworth in the maternity ward – from Susie Wild in a heritage gift shop to Sarah James in a swimming pool – they overheard snippets of conversation and made them into stories, poems and scripts.
