A great read, laugh out loud funny.

I enjoyed the excerpt of this book and it's on my list for future reading.

Great read, takes me back to my schooldays.

A humerous story well told. Marje reminds me of my first wife, but I must stress only from the tragic and dramatic poses she adopts. A kind of 'silent movie star' Mind you in my schooldays , sex was a'very taboo' thing. No mention wwas made of the birds and bees, but the occassional 'bike' was thrown at the permissive girl ( A little before her time). Good girls never mentioned any word tha could be construed as sexy and personal hygiene was a silent subject. Back to your book Bryony. Your descriptions are not only realistic but factual to the reader. A good book. Completely different style from my writing but I enjoyed it. Thanks for the read.

Interesting and, at times, surreal

I suppose I ought to say at the outset that this is not my usual choice of reading material. However, saying that, I found it to be at times funny, interesting, surreal and engrossing. Bryony writes with a distinctive voice that captures the imagination and doesn't let go, managing to draw the reader into the slightly surreal world she is depicting. If this is a true, if somewhat embellished, depiction of a schoolteachers life then it is no wonder that its called one of the most stressful professions in the world. The one thing that occurs to me is, considering that it is, in part, based on her own experiences , which parts are they and are there any libel suits in the offing?

Excellent read - witty page turner- makes the mind wonder what goes on in school!!
