I suppose I ought to say at the outset that this is not my usual choice of reading material.
However, saying that, I found it to be at times funny, interesting, surreal and engrossing. Bryony writes with a distinctive voice that captures the imagination and doesn't let go, managing to draw the reader into the slightly surreal world she is depicting. If this is a true, if somewhat embellished, depiction of a schoolteachers life then it is no wonder that its called one of the most stressful professions in the world.
The one thing that occurs to me is, considering that it is, in part, based on her own experiences , which parts are they and are there any libel suits in the offing?
