The title Megalith,Masonry Myth and Measure is an overriding name that takes in two books. It is a title that was to be applied to a single work but the volume was too great and hence two books materialised from the one. The individual titles are Deluge:From Genesis to Atlantis and Measurements of the Gods.
These works are almost entirely original and indeed the thinking and methodology of research has not been encountered elsewhere. The results prove the methods are practical and successful and the analysis can be easily replicated by any interested reader.
Do not blindly accept[or reject] our words, do the checks and prove it for yourself!
The pages here with the title Megalith,Masonry Myth and Measure are in fact a three page essay describing the works. Harry Sivertsen : "Megalith, Masonry, Myth and Measure Volumes I and II The above generic title covers the two works Deluge: from Genesis to Atlantis and Measurements of the Gods. These works have been nearly 30 years in the making, the research having commenced in the early 1980s. Deluge covers the floods not only as suggested in the title but other equally mythical events. The source of these stories is at long last revealed and no, there was no global flood, nor a localised flood that was thought to be global, the tales have elements of truth but that truth is not what is generally perceived as the background to the stories. The book reveals all. Closely associated is Measurements of the Gods. So why, one may ask, are measurements associated with the flood story? A valid question to which we can rightly reply, why have these myths not been unravelled in the past? The answer is that much that is associated with the myths is detailed not in words but in numbers. Of course all too many readers stray away from numbers which is why so many of these ancient tales remain mysterious, mythical inventions for so many people. Yet once these values are understood they almost cease to have mathematical associations as many can be read literally. There exists families of values that become as familiar as words and like words, have specific meanings. This is a technique utilised in past eras which had been forgotten in the modern world but allows an understanding of many ancient texts including numerous Biblical passages that previously required faith for acceptance. Now they only require an understanding of the methodology of recording and that methodology is supplied in both works. The numbers unravel the allegory. The same systems were utilised by Plato and his allegorical tale of Atlantis hence here is seen the first realistic explanation of that particular story. It has the same source as the Genesis model of the flood. The use of measures in the landscape in Britain is another fascinating study which only requires maps to pursue. Examples are given in Measurements of the Gods as are metrological connections to mediaeval buildings...and maps. Here we see links between the landscape of Britain, maps, buildings, the pyramids of Egypt the flood tales and much more and the links are numbers and astronomy."
