  How far into the publishing process do I have to be before I can purchase my CN ISBN? My book is still awaiting its final cover.

  The CN Publishing Guide suggests that the cover image forms part of the ISBN Registration – so will I have to delay ISBN purchase until my book is 100% ready?

  I have a provisional ‘book launch’ date of 12-Jan-12 but it looks like that might have been over-optimistic….?

  Since the ISBN barcode is something you probably want to put on the back of your book, it’s probably sensible to buy the ISBN and passing the downloaded barcode to your cover designer for inclusion on the cover.

  Thank you, Andrew. We have since purchased the ISBNs and passed the barcodes to our illustrator.

  Unfortunately, I am still having trouble with the ISBN registration side of things (a second post is here: http://www.completelynovel.com/discussions/635)
  and am currently waiting to hear back from the CN Team.

  Hi,

  Is this for everyone I cannot purchase an ISBN, it just says the free plan cannot purchase ISBN numbers.

  Is this correct or as above should everyone be able to purchase an ISBN?
