Very different to the kind of ‘fairs’ I went to as a teenager (which involved junk food, dodgy waltzers and someone throwing up across the entire window of the local bank) this week was all about the London Book Fair. It was a chance for us to meet more of the people behind the books that we love and help them to use CompletelyNovel to communicate with readers and writers.
Fancy seeing a bit more about the creative people behind the books? Take a peek at this video of ‘Canon Tales’, a series of presentations at the London Book Fair. Each presenter had to present 20 images in just 7 minutes…pretty rapid!
There are also pictures of some of the people I managed to convince to pose for a photo!

A view of the Fair

Canon Tales was really good – it’s a shame the SYP video is so short – the presentations were really exciting and generally very funny too. Having to present in time with a rapid display of slides is such a fabulous way of keeping speakers engaging and their presentations snappy.
I think all presentations should be done in this way, if using slides. I went to a talk the other night at which the presenter proudly announced that he had only three slides to whip through. I was then thoroughly disappointed to see that each slide had about 20 lines of writing and multiple diagrams on. It was extremely painful and sooo boring.
